This three day class satisfies the PMI-required classroom contact hours in order to sit for the exam! The class is limited to twelve students due to the interactive, hands-on nature of the class.

You will be given 21 hours of first class, hands on, interactive instruction along with all required study materials!

PM 101 Fun Camp! (3 days)

The PM 101 Introduction to PM class may be scheduled for your company if you have 12 to 30 students! Please contact PM One for more information!

This three day Introduction to Project Management class is limited in size to ensure complete student engagement! This is NOT a spectator class! Everyone is engaged and participates! In this class, we make learning FUN!

The first day consists of a mix of short lecture, activities designed to reinforce PM concepts, and group exercises.

The second day is all about you! This day is devoted to helping you work with your project teams by better understanding yourself and your team members. From there we go into typical causes of team conflict and how to get beyond personalities so that the root cause of the issue can be resolved!

The last day is complete group work, where each group competes to analyze a failing project, develop the missing project documents such as a WBS and Risk Matrix for the project, and end with making a formal presentation where they will recommend what to do with the project.

This three day class continues to get rave reviews and has sold out every time it has been offered!

This class may be abbreviated to two days upon request.

PMP Requirements

You should refer to the PMI website for specific and up to date requirements for the PMP exam. However, below are guidelines that you can consider when making the decision on whether or not you qualify to sit for the exam.

If you have a bachelors or higher education degree:

• 4,500 hours of experience leading and directing projects over the past 96 months.
• A minimum of three years (36 different months) of experience leading and directing projects over the past 96 months.
• 35 contact hours of formal project management instruction (our PMP Boot Camps provide that).

If you lack a bachelors degree:

• 7,500 hours of experience leading and directing projects over the past 96 months..
• A minimum of five years (60 different months) of experience leading and directing projects over the past 96 months.
• 35 contact hours of formal project management instruction (our PMP Boot Camps provide that).

You do not have to have experience running million dollar projects. PMI considers a project to be a project! So, look at what you do each day. Consider projects that you led for non-profits, such as charities, churches, or schools. You did not have to have the title of "Project Manager", but you must have been "leading and directing projects" in some way. Note that you did not have to have experience using the PMBOK or their methods to qualify.

Remember, PMI also offers other certifications. If you lack the experience requirements above, you most likely still qualify for the CAPM (Certified Associate Project Manager) certification. Our PMP Boot Camps will prepare you for the PMP or the CAPM certification.
