“Dan got the point across to the class that Project Management is leadership. He lit a fire within them. You would not have believed all the wonderful things they said about Dan.”

- Dr. Steve Mauldin, College of Charleston

  • PMP Prep Course

We are South Carolina's largest PMP Prep Course provider, typically offering four to six classes per year, including classes in both Charleston and Columbia.

The PMP Prep Course is a five-day "boot camp" that will prepare an experienced project manager for the PMP exam. If you meet the requirements to sit for the exam (see www.pmi.org for more information), then we can get you ready to pass it!

Our students have experienced a 99% pass rate on their first try at taking the PMP exam!

Unlike other training providers in the state, our classes are taught by practicing project managers who are PMP certified. Our instructors are not "trainers", they work full time in the project management profession and are involved in project management challenges every day. The instructors are also very active in the project management community, serving on local PMI chapter boards, state project management committees and boards, and are dedicated to furthering the trade in SC.

Our PMP Prep Course is also the only class that provides you with all of the following study materials at no extra cost!

    • PMP Prep Student Guide (400+ pages)
    • All powerpoint slides from the class
    • Printed copy of the PMBOK
    • 180 day license to "PM Final", the online PMP Exam Prep software (www.pmfinal.com)
    • Crosswind PM Study Guide
    • Crosswind PM Flashcards (400+)
    • Crosswind PM Study Posters
    • Crosswind PM Study Placemats

  • Project Kickoffs

We have kicked off dozens of projects for businesses and agencies looking to get the team started on the right foot. Often these kickoffs follow a PM 101 class, but we are flexible in our approach and will work with you to develop the best way to introduce project management into your organization.

For ideas and options on kicking off projects right, contact us!

PM 101 Class (The Basics!)

This is an introductory course that was initially developed for the State of SC's Project Management training program as a two day class. However, in respect of the busy schedules of our clients we have created a one day class that includes the same material covered in the two day course (without covering the state government specific policies and procurement areas).

This one day class will introduce staff new to project management, and refresh those of us who have been practicing project management for years. We always have a few PMPs attend each class, and they get several benefits from the course:

  • They are reminded of the basics of good project management.
  • They are able to support their project teams who are attending the training.
  • They earn 7 PDUs!

So whether you are new to project management or a seasoned professional, you will enjoy attending this interactive and engaging class.

PM 102 Class (Tool Time!)

Yes, this is part two of the above class! Like PM 101, PM 102 includes a full day of interactive learning while still having fun.

We call it "Tool Time!" because it takes the concepts taught in PM 101 and allows the students to actually practice using their new tools and techniques on a practice project designed for the class.

For instance PM 101 introduces the students to the concept of a WBS, while PM 102 has the students create a WBS in small groups for a practice project. PM 101 discusses risk analysis, while PM 102 engages the students in actually creating a risk matrix (with qualitative analysis) on a practice project.

We consider PM 102 to be a practicum for the theories and methods taught in PM 101. Both classes are interactive and includes lots of activities, group exercises, and discussion.

This class may also be customized for a customer so that the practice exercises are using real projects at the organization, allowing the project team to attend training and leave the class with actual project deliverables.

New in 2010, the PM 102 class will include each student taking the MVS (Motivational Value System, by SDI). It is critical for Project Managers to understand what motivates them and their teams, and this great tool will help you learn more about yourself and those that you lead in order for you to become even more effective.

To ensure that all students are on the same page, PM 101 is a prerequisite for PM 102...yes, even for PMPs!
